The Ancient Episcopio is located in the center of the Amalfi Coast, in the heart of the ancient medieval village of Pontone, a small fraction of the municipality of Scala, the first Roman settlement on the coast.
Here time seems to have stopped: the bell towers, medieval buildings and churches have never changed over the centuries, just as the peaceful atmosphere of this coastal town has remained intact.
Part of the village was for centuries the refuge of the nobility and the clergy of Amalfi.
The Ancient Episcopio was the first and only residence palace of the bishops of the diocese of Scala, conquered by the breathtaking panorama and the atmosphere of other times that still today attract visitors from all over the world.
Our structure was completely renovated in 2010 by the local architect Anna Fimiani who was able to enhance it by bringing it back to its ancient splendor.
Corollated by the Lattari Mountains, Pontone is a meeting place for lovers of trekking, hiking, nature lovers and relaxation that only these areas are able to satisfy.
It is possible to easily reach the nearby villages of Ravello, Scala, Atrani and Amalfi, thus discovering panoramic views, Mediterranean architectural volumes, shades of lights at any time of day that will immerse you in a spectacular panorama where the sea and the mountains meet.
