The Antico Episcopio

The Antico Episcopio is located in the center of the Amalfi Coast, in the heart of the ancient medieval village ofPontone, a small hamlet in the municipality ofScala, the first Roman settlement on the coast.

Here, time seems to have stood still: the bell towers, medieval buildings, and churches have remained unchanged over the centuries, and the peaceful atmosphere of this coastal town has remained intact.
For centuries, part of the village was a refuge for the Amalfi nobility and clergy.

The Antico Episcopio was the first and only residence of the bishops of the diocese of Scala, who were captivated by the breathtaking views and atmosphere of times gone by, which still attract visitors from all over the world today.
